IM ONLY GETTING ABOUT 210-220 OUT OF A FULL TANK WHAT SHOULD I DO TO IMPROVE GAS MILLAGE. (NO I DONT HAVE A HEAVY FOOT.... AND I ONLY USE 93 FROM SUNOCO OR SHELL ) AND ITS A MIXTURE OF HIGHWAY DRIVING AND CITY 70% CITY 30% HIGHWAY ... 210-220 IS PRETTY LOW

Please turn cap locks off (this indicates you are yelling at us).

Your mileage is normal if you are driving "70% CITY 30% HIGHWAY."

What are your avg mph for a given tank? If it's less than 20 mph, your mpgs are normal. Your solution: drive more highway miles or drive something more fuel efficient for the "city" miles you do.

70% city is a lot of city driving, therefor your fuel economy is gonna take the shitter. A couple things you can do to improve fuel economy...move away from the city or buy a more fuel efficient car :-)
For reference I usually fill up my 08 Type S auto between 280 and 300 miles per tank and I drive all far suburban miles. Yours sounds about right.

Try shifting sooner, like 2500 RPMs. How many miles? When was last time the coils and plugs were replaced? My wife was getting about the same mileage as you were ,but she get about 250-260 out of a tank once we did her coils and plugs.

No leave it at D, if you want the best MPG
I drive Full city, 100%
except to get gas I drive 15 miles back and forth on highway, which makes 30miles

including that 30miles, I get 255 at least, if I drive like a normal person, which usually doesn't happen after needle passes the half tank...but even with that I do 220+

Oh...clean the top o2 sensors
I just bought new ones but cleaning them would help as well
Im at 128k

Just because his car is modded doesn't mean it makes better mileage

Post a picture of your MID with the screen showing your average MPH, time, distance and MPG.

The more stopping and sitting at lights, the worse your mileage will be.

Driving from my house to work is almost a straight shot, only stopping at a few lights, I make ~23 mpg with that trip.

Driving from my gf's to work, I make about ~20, there are more lights to stop at.

Reesse4x: try searching this forum for MPG. I promise you will find a TON of information about this subject. The MID's average MPH indicator will be your friend in your quest for improving fuel economy. You have a heavy V6 sedan and it will never be as economical as a Civic in the city; however, the TL does quite well on the highway where it loves to cruise at 30-34MPG all day.

Straight hwy at 60mph (100km/hr) with no stop n go. This was a short 20 min drive.

The TL-s 6MT returns 6L/100km which is 38mpg. The (i) light is on re: 10% oil life.

For me, city driving takes it up to 10L/100km which is about 23mpg.

You're right where you should be. I get about 16/17 mpg because I drive about 90% city.

I think you should look into a hybrid or a full electric vehicle if you're interested in maximizing your fuel economy!

I think you're getting the "normal" amount of miles per tank. The TL is a pretty heavy car. Maybe you can do whatever weight reduction you can on it? Check out the TL Diet threads that some of our members have done.

^ again do a search- you'll see what IHateCars has to say about those items you think changing will improve MPG- you won't see any noticeable improvement in MPG. It's the average MPH that is your problem and nothing with the car like everybody has written.

One item that will change MPG are your tires- my MPG improved 2 MPG after I switched from the Pilot A/S Plus to Yok0hama 580's with little change in performance/handling of the car.

Your TL is getting normal mileage. Post your average mph. Saying 70% city and 30% highway means absolutely nothing. Only average mph matters. Mine is at 10mpg and 9mph now and that's normal for such a low mph.

Everything you just mentioned will not make a difference in mpg. Air filters make no difference. Make sure the tires are inflated ok, make sure all unnecessary weight is out, and make sure you run premium fuel and you've done all you can do. This has been gone over once a week for years now. The info is out there.

What is your average MPH as indicated on the MID?

You are getting fairly 'normal' fuel economy compared to other people complaining on here. However, I did manage to average 31 over my last 400 some mile tank, 100% 'city'. 27 MPH average. 100% 40-45 MPH speed limits, which is about ideal, aside from lights, traffic, and my short drives. And this was with a higher displacement engine. You should be capable of better.

How you drive matters quite a bit, especially with a MT.

Its hard to believe someone would create a new thread titled "another gas mileage post" obviously knowing that there are several and not providing the critical average MPH! Crazy

^ indeed- you can simply reply in an existing thread and get the thread to bubble to the top page, and then create a big fury of new postings. I was tempted to bubble up the thread I started way back about turning off the motor at traffic lights to save gas but decided not to.
