I know most of us did not buy our TLs for the speed alone, if that's all we wanted, we would have bought a new mustang GT, or even better yet, a GTO.... or even a neon SRT-4

But, another car that will be cheaper, and *possibly* quicker, is the new eclipse GT, with 263hp/260ft-lbs, and weighs 3472.

In addition to those... now there is a hyundai that might be close in speed, and they try to make it "nice" too... i suspect it will be compared to an accord and maybe altima, or possibly maxima. It has 263/255, but i think it does weigh like 3700 or something i think i read somewhere. Even has LED tail lights... but still no HIDs i don't think.

Both the Azera and the Eclipse GT have 3.8L with almost the same HP and torque, both with variable valve timing, i would almost start to wonder.... hmmm.... both coming out at near the same time... could it be same engine? but... I have heard that hyundai makes their own engines, and also, the hyundai is a DOHC and the eclipse is a SOHC.
