Its a time factor. In order to fix that small spot, they are going to need to grind a lot of paint off and remove the rust with a grinder. Once that is done, they then have to build it back up from prime stage. For a small spot, that is a lot of time.

Becareful with the dealers, some dealers may try to just fill it with some touch up!!! You never can tell with them.

I checked this morning Kennedy and I don't have this problem! Thank God! But judging by the growing list of people that do, maybe it would be appropriate to add a "yet" at the end! Good luck on your "rehabbing"!

I checked my car today and i have this same problem, but I have the paint chipped on the trunk as well. Both spots look liked they rubbed together at one point.

Was there any success with getting this fixed. I hate going to the dealer b/c the only times I go are for warranty work.....

gotta go look at mine...dark paint, harder to see.

I've never been that impressed with the paint job on this car versus others I've had.

3 days later... All fixed up. Looks like they painted the about 4-5 incheas around the tailight.

Excellent job, I can't find a paintline, not can I see where the chip "was".

I noticed something similar on my TL recently after washing the car. It's a small nick on the corner right next to the upper front grill. I'll post a photo tomorrow. For those of you guys who has had similar problems, did your dealer warranted this problem?

Nicks on the FRONT are stone chips. The dealer will not warranty those. Stop following the gravel truck.

Kennedy: i don't think this knick is from gravels. I'm always really careful about following a gravel truck. I usually stay 2 lanes away from any gravel trucks on the road/fwy. i'll post the pic tomorrow.
