Angel Eye Owners: Which are you?

For those of you with angel eyes...

  1. How do turn them on and off?
  2. Do you have them wired into your DRLs or running lights?
  3. Do you have them on a seperate switch?
  4. If you have them on a seperate switch, what kind of switch are you using and where did you mount it?
Hoping to do mine this weekend and was just wondering what the best method is...

Thanks

  1. How do turn them on and off? Depends on how you wire them. I wired mine to my side markers. so they turn and off with them. OR you can wire them to be always on by tapping into your windshield wippers. OR you can wire them independently to a switch on your dash.
  2. Do you have them wired into your DRLs or running lights? I have an 04, this no DRLs, but I am sure it's possible. Though that is the same as running it to the windshield wippers. I would suggest against this as having them always on will decrease their life expectancy.
  3. Do you have them on a seperate switch? Covered this.
  4. If you have them on a seperate switch, what kind of switch are you using and where did you mount it? You can purchase a switch from Radio Shack, or buy a factory honda switch

A switch sounds best to me, as I'd like them to be independent. Where are you guys mounting your switches?

I use my blank space for my JL Audio Cleansweep knob, but that nice spot is right where the side mirror controls are

I'm thinking of wiring it in, so that it comes in with my parking lights, or like someone suggested side markers, but then when I click it to the headlight position, it will shut off.

How would you wire that?? I really like the idea, as the Angel Eyes appear non-existant with the headlights on.

Would this work?

http://www.radioshack.com/product/in...ductId=3125352

Just a small rocker, that illuminates up blue (matches the interior lighting...).

Simply done with one 5 prong relay. Supply power to the relay from the parking light wire to 30 on the relay and not from the battery, and then output power to the angel eyes off the 87a lead. Trigger the coil 85 with headlight power wire, and basically the lights will turn on when you have your parkign lights on but off when your headlights are on since the lever closes to output via 87 which you will leave disconnected.

I haven't done this yet, as med school is kicking my ass right now but its Very simple

And yes that will work but I try to avoid throwing on switches in our dash as it can get very cluttered very quickly.

Mine are wired into the parking lights. Nice and simple. Still running strong. I did angel-eyes about 2 yrs ago.

I did redo my headlights about a month ago totally different, now with LED strips. I broke one of the angel eye rings. (THWOP!) and luckily I had a spare one around. Lazy to put up pics, I'll get to it.

How did you feed the wires out of the headlight for the LED strip and angel eyes? Drill a hole are let it get wedged on the way out between the seal?

And so you're saying you run the Halos all the time or do you have a separate kill switch somewhere? Trying to figure out the life span on these things.

Not sure what year TL you have. but for the 04-06 it's the middle wire in the marker. best way to test it is with a volt meter.

Well I have options. I will be putting on my type-s gage bezel conversion this weekend, so I can always put it on there. Or I was thinking about hiding it on the steering wheel column some where...
