Amber Turn Signal Bulb (Headlight Mod)

Hi all,

Im going to be blacking out my headlights via the How-To in the garage section. I will be taking the amber reflector off and looking for options to replace the stock turn signal bulb since it would shine white with the reflector off. Im looking for a bulb that will shine amber would LED works such as these without the use of a resistor (I want a plug and play replacement that shines amber that isn't expensive). So would something like these work?

check out vleds.com.

Resistor is needed to prevent hyperflashing on turn signals.

Or you can do the turn signal relay mod which consists of soldering on a resistor inside the relay under the steering column. google it on acurazine and it's been done before.

Im not looking to add any resistors, thanks for the info. Any bulbs that are plug and play like OEM that shine amber?

Do you care about hyperflashing at all?

If not, then get any bulbs.

Vleds Triton's are "plug and play" but they have a built in resistor so ... not really. . also, you mentioned "cheap" in your OP so those are out of the question..

Or.. just get some amber non-led bulbs

any kind of incandescent bulb with an amber coating will be fine. I'm sure there are a lot.

dont use those LEDs in your OP, they will not be bright enough, stick to incandescent bulbs.

If you're worried about looks and want chrome coated bulbs:

They are not as bright as bulbs without the coating though.

OP I have been running these for over 2 years.

I did do the resistor relay mod. You cannot run LEDs without a resistor unless you are ok with hyperflash.

If not, go with paperboy's advise
