I spend a lot of time on dealership with my TL problems, and notice, on all 04 TL front hood silver pice doesn't fit right, like mine.

It's not adjustable(I checked), soo I did request and show to service manager how it's looks on 05 TL. Answer was : You was a first who find that. But new parts was ordered and installed.

Better get those water spots off your car before they "burn" into the paint...aka..acid rain damage.

 

I have the same issue, though my misalignment has caused the corner of my hood to rust. My dealer is still trying to resolve the problem.
