Akebono ProACT ACT787 for 6MT with Brembo?
Hi Everyone,
I'm trying to figure out if Akebono makes brakes for a 6MT with Brembo fronts? I've had amazing luck with Akebono brakes on my wifes A4--no dust, no noise, excellent feel and stopping, etc after 6 months, so I want to go with what I know works with my TL, but I can't seem to find definitively if the fronts that pop up on Amazon will fit my car or not. Tirerack doesn't carry akebono's for the front, only the rear, which makes me suspicious.
I've seen some posts on here talking about Akebono for a 6MT but they just didn't quite clear up my question.
Really just like to have an Akebono ProACT ceramic part number for front 6MT Brembo brakes that I can order...
Thoughts?

They definitely have it for the 6mt brembos (all 6mt are brembos by the way) and I'm using them as well as other people. They are great brakes.
I gave you the part number up above.

Actually, I really wish they made the proact for the front, because I have a set on my a4 and there is seriously no dust at all and they feel great. But that said the asp's will be just that much better, right? :-)
I ordered the asp1001 for the front and asp536 for the rears.
Now, where do I get stinking rotors? I don't don't really care about slotted or drilled, but I would like to have them coated so they don't rust. I saw brembo has a uv coated one for the rest but doesn't seem to have an equivalent one for the front. I'd consider drilled or slotted, but there's such a premium in price and I don't really need any performance increase over stock oem. Thoughts?

^ the asp are better than the act so you'll be very happy! I have almost no dust and the stopping power is amazing.
Regarding rotors I had the same thought and went with the Stoptech slotted rotors all around. I've always liked the look of the slotted rotors and also wanted a black hub so this was perfect. O got all my pads and rotors for about 375 shipped. Stoptech has great rotors and this is the best setup I've had. I'll get all these again when I have to buy again
A cheaper route is to get the centric blank rotors. They are good quality and have painted hubs. Stoptech is the racing and performance side of centric so it's all the same company.

Oh, that helps a lot. Thanks so much for the info. I'm going to go ahead and get the centrics from tire rack all around.
I have four new dunlop direzzas, akebono pads, and centric rotors, and a whole new stereo system going in. This car is going to be an absolute blast to drive this summer.

Oh yay, someone else decided to start another brake pad thread!!
I bought Brakelabs drilled/slotted rotors for $110 off of their ebay store 5 years and ~110K miles ago. I was already running RB ET300 pads (changed at 63K). These rotors are still within spec. Been very satisfied with these rotors, especially for only $110 for the pair.
P.S. I have ~155K on the RB ET300s and they are not yet half worn. The RB ET300s are very good with no dusting, but they don't quite meet the performance of the OEM pads. I don't think you'll find any pad that will beat the OEM pads. I'll be interested to compare the Akebanos when the time comes to replace the ET300s..

You know, I never really understood the resistance to starting new threads. I searched literally for two weeks, obsessively trying to find akebono part numbers that I could then buy online for less than what I would pay at an Acura dealership, and couldn't pull all the disparate information together.
Then I started a thread. And viola! I got my answer.
Without all these discussions, there wouldn't be any information on here, would there? And what use would that be?

Adequate stopping power, no noise, barely any dust, and a great price to boot, around $25.
