Airbag replacement
#2
airbag is about 700 for the drivers side and around 1K if I remember right for the curtain bag. You need to drop the headliner partially to do this. You are looking at good 500 bux in labor alone to just install the bags.
All said and done, expect about 2500-3000 bux for both of these AND then you STILL need a SRS control module. Once the airbags blow, it sets a code in the SRS computer that CAN NOT BE ERASED. This module ranges from 300-600 bux depending on year of car. Its located DEEP in the center of the dash under the radio. That will set you back another 400 bux to install.
Count on around 3500-4000 to fix the 2 bags and the SRS module.
Why do you ask ?

Damn!!! I didn't think it would cost that much. No wonder why they total cars when air bags get deployed.
