Airbag Light

I removed the passenger and driver seats this weekend to clean my carpet. When I put the seats back, the airbag light came on and does not turn off even with a passenger sitting in the seat. I searched and read that if the seat cable connections are reconnected while there is weight on the seat then this problem does not hapen. However, the passenger seat has limited space so it cannot be accessed while it has been fixed in place.

Any clues before I take it to the dealer?

Maybe try to unplug your battery for a few minutes to see if it resets? Although I think I remember reading that the SRS unit is self powered...

with old honda/acuras you could reset the light yourself, but with these new ones you'll need to pay the dealer a visit to have it reset

no you dont have to go to the dealer

do a search- the battery has to be connected or disconnected before playing with under seat wires
You can reset it yourself

no you don't have to disconnect the battery for anything, you just can not turn the ignition on

You are right but honda/acura does recommend before messing with opds and srs harnesses and connectors that the battery should be disconnected!

All wrong. Once you disconnect , the SRS record a code and It needs to reset . now, No matter what you do it wont clear( meaning disc the battery. ect..) . This can prevent before you disconnect the seat, but now it is too late. To clear that code . THere are 2 possible way. ONe is using scanner , 2 is using connector behind ur fuse box which is easy to do. Do more research. If you bring to dealer just tell them that light come on for no reason so they wont charge you. but if you tell them that you disconnect from the seat them they will charge you for sure. GOod luck

looks like certain new model honda/acura still have the 2 pin connector to reset the srs lights. the TL's still do, here is the procedure since no one else wants to post it up.

you also do not need the special connector that they show, a paperclip works just as good...

nice Rbf 351. If it doesn't work , you have to bring to dealership or call Airbag specialist. Because from 05 and up. YOu cant initialize OPDS manually.

Thanks for all tips. I didn't look back in this thread and forgot about it and posted a new one.

None of the tips, however, works. I will go to the dealer in a few days. I am not sure if they will buy "it just came on". Lets see what they charge me. I will try to do it as part of A1 or A2 service that is coming up, and they may reset for no charge.
