After 7 Years...Finally Got My TL!
I signed up for Acurazine in 2003 in anticipation of the new TL redesign and was gonna wait 1 year until purchasing a 2005 TL. Well, I ended up getting married and no longer had money for the TL
. Fast forward through a divorce
and here we are. Single guys pay attention here, buy that car before getting married, afterwards….oh well you know. Hate to say it but it’s becoming a woman’s world out there…don’t fight it as it’s been architectured that way
.
The 4G grew on me but it just doesn’t give the satisfaction of the 3G TL-S in many categories.
I finally scored my 2007 TL-S in early May via private sale found on Craigslist. I had been looking for nearly the last year and have been driving my 2000 Accord SE for the last decade (really). I looked around and most of the cars at the stealership were in pretty beat up condition. They didn’t have dings but worse, they usually had several light to deep scratches on the body with an average of 25-45k miles. I was quite surprised how badly people would treat their $40K vehicles. I plan to keep the TL for 7+ years as it is timeless and will undoubtedly enter the Acura Classic Hall of Fame.
I’m gonna keep this short and wanted to say hello to the community. I appreciate the vast wealth of information here.

Congrats on the buy, I too just picked up a TL-S last week but it had 50k miles on it. There were others around but they all had some quite a bit of exterior damage as you said. I finally found mine that had a flawless interior and the exterior was almost perfect except for some tiny chips here and there!
Lol, I drove a 01 Honda Accord for 5 years now and finally saved up enough to get this

Congrats! I've wanted a 6spd 3G since I saw them come out, I knew it was the car I wanted. I finally got mine a month ago and I couldn't be happier still. Went from a 96 Accord / 97 CL to the TL, such a huge step up. It definitely feels so good to get the "dream" car after 6 years of waiting.

Thank you everyone for the warm welcome. ![Thumbs Up](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/thumbsup.gif)
Let the modding begin. I tot the A-Spec kit installed. Took a weekend to get that sucker put on but well worth the money. It was like surgery was being performed in the garage, no one was allowed in, lol.
Next up is an oil change with Redline 5w20 running through a RP filter. Then a 3x3 tranny flush with Redline D4. Top this off with a full claybar, polish, seal, and wax.

O man! There was a WDP with the black interior at one of the smaller dealerships that I saw on Craigslist about 3 weeks ago. I was so excited because it was THE color I wanted at the time and right when I picked up the phone to call to ask about it......it was sold

Be patient and be sure to perform a detailed, careful inspection. Take a friend as two eyes are better than one.

Reading the original post made me laugh...I was looking for a new (to me anyways) car, having driven my Civic hatchback for almost 12 years. Tested a couple of MazdaSpeed 6's (06/07), 06 Infiniti M35x, a variety of TLs and my baby...07 TL-S. Picked that bad boy up back in March.
I'm married with 2 young kids. I just called up the wife and told her I found the perfect car. Picked it up. Spent about $9K more than the self-imposed budget (and definitely more than the wife expected). Don't have to be single to get this snazzy ride!!

I'll get the pics up soon bro. The exterior is in great shape so I thought I'd work on the internals and then hit the outside. Even the seller emailed me to send him some pics after I told him I had slapped on the A-Spec kit. Wonder if he's mysteriously lurking around here - just a strange feeling. Stay tuned!
I agree, the car is awesome so far.
The x-wifey and her entire family has expensive taste. I'm from a more conservative middle-income home. No matter where you live, wedding costs will rip you a new wazoo. It's all become a showtime dream movie and competition between women (Bride Wars). Unfortunately our custom is to invite the whole damn world to the wedding. Nearly 900 folks at the wedding over 600. It's truly unfathomable. I've seen some weddings go 1500 people
.
After this I was looking at a million dollar home in a failing economy where a car was a better investment because it kept you from buying a home...lol
. Hey, it's the yay area where you get to pay 1k a month just on property taxes.
Dynamics of pre-post marital relationships are quite funny to me now...When I hear someone tell me they're getting married, I just say 'my condolences' and laugh.

4 eyes or 8 with glasses.
What sort of tint are you looking at? I want to tint very, very lightly all around but not sure what the Cali rules are these days for front windows...Can't do nothing in Cali without serious research of the law. ![Tomato](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/tomato.gif)
For sure bro...I'm up for a meet or whatever. I know there's a group of WDP folks in the bay.
