aemv2 and p2r spacer setup, problem?
Hey guys just wanted to get some quick info from anyone that has the same setup.
I just installed my p2r spacer with two thermal gaskets and a aem v2 intake.
I looked under my hood today and noticed that the rubber spacer has shifted a little and that the intake is "loose" it jiggles when I push it and wiggle it around is that a normal thing? And the rubber spacer has shifted a bit and enclosed more of the tb as well as the intake I checked the clamps already and they are tight. Would this be a serious problem?
Thanks for the help guys

If I read correctly you had to cut away about an inch of the intake to make it fit with the spacer. Did you? If not, this could be your problem. Maybe it was squeezed in there and now with the engine temps and vibration of normal driving it's buckling and shifting up?

i have a similar setup but with a V1 AEM instead of the V2, and i have never had an issue like this. do you have any pics, its hard to imagine what you are describing?
are the clamps around something solid? like, is it around the rubber and something metal underneath? if it was not actually clamping the rubber to the intake or the TB then i could see things shift, but otherwise i dont know...

i had a problem like this with my v1 aem intake but i just really didn't tighten those bolts down correctly untill the second time around and now it's fine ........go re-tighten everything including the rubber piece that connects the pipe to the TB (MEANING THE CLAMPS THAT HOLD IT ON)

before posting i had already tightened the clamps, still seems to wiggle. that's when i was worried and posted for help.
i've read somewhere about a custom mount that had to be made.
i'm thinking that's where my problem is. the hole in which i put in my vibramount does not match where the intake needs to be attached. i forced a fit, now the vibramount is slanted in a diagonal line as opposed to straight.
if this fabbed up mount is made would that help? with the wiggling atleast.

I'm almost positive I read somewhere if you install the TB spacer AND you have a cold air intake, you HAVE to cut an inch or so off the end of the pipe so everything will end up where it should be.

You're right. People have installed spacers on intakes without doing this and still had things fit, others have had breaks. Anyway, you should cut the end of the tube (throttle body end) about the same amount as the spacers are adding so the filter end of the tube is essentially in its intended location.
