AEM vs. Injen - CAI
Anyone know anything about AEM coming out with a CAI for the 04TL? I thought I saw a thread on here before the crash mentioning it, and I'd like some more info such as release date, and performance & products quality comparison between the two manufacturers.
Thanks

I posted that here... I've got the AEM intake system coming next week. Its supposedly a little bit better torque curve than the injen, but the hp is about the same. The AEM's are always have alittle morecurve relative to the stock torque, but their product always cost more as well.... This intake system will probably be about 250-275 at retailers opposed to 225 shipped for the injen... Ill be dyno'ing the vehicle next week with the AEM.

Cant speak for everyone, but from my own experiences Injen develops intakes a little too quickly and puts them out so fast, which is not really a bad thing, but they often have certain issues that should have been resolved before production. For example in the g35 coupe engine stall at high speeds and heat shields cracking, on a few others. They do stand behind their product and will replace it with a new fixed model. For the price they are probably the best product. AEM, for the most part outperforms all intakes, has very little post-preduction issues, sometimes a little more difficult to install, and a higher price. Quality in build is very similair, although AEM material is more heat resistant, i would say go AEM but you cant loose with either.

Well the dyno was completed yesterday, and as i had suspected, the AEM performs slightly better than the Injen. the overall wheel HP is 13.9 opposed to the 11.8 from injen, but the difference is in the torque. The injen actually lost a few lbs. of torque in the low range opposed to stock. The AEM was pretty much equivalent , or if not higher by 1 throughout the range, until V-TECh kicks in, and then it performs slightly better than the injen.
If i was to choose between the two, i wouldnt know what to pick. They are both quality products, and both perform rather well opposed to stock, as some here already have the injen intake installed and can vouch for me. It just a matter or preference I would say, but im leaving the AEM on now, and selling the injen. I dont feel like tearing the car apart again to install the injen.

They are pretty much the same. Any aftermarket cold air intake is gonna make some noise. Its not a annoying stupid noise, its just the intake and throttle body breathing more freely... It doesnt sound like a Civic with some stupid muffler system... Its a deep forced air sound, but only over 4500rpm...
