AEM - Universal Engine Management System

AEM’s Universal Engine Management System!

November 16th, 2004, Hawthorne, CA – AEM proudly introduces its Universal Programmable Engine Management System. The AEM Universal EMS is ideal for high-performance and forced-induction vehicles with performance levels that have exceeded the capabilities of the factory ECU. On top of the features that AEM’s Plug & Play EMS offers, the Universal EMS also offers Peak & Hold Injector Drivers, a Direct Drive Ignition and a 2 Channel UEGO.

AEM is proud to have been awarded the “Primedia Technology Award - SEMA Compact Performance Section” for 2004. The award recognized the AEM Universal EMS for its ease of installation, use, versatility and exceptional value. In the presentation Scott Oldham from Sport Compact Car magazine noted that AEM has made programmable electronic engine management available to a much broader customer base than ever before with its plug and play strategy. The award ceremony was also recorded for Hot Rod TV.

AEM’s infinitely adjustable software enables tuners to program virtually any combination of engine control, power adders and auxiliary devices, and accurately deliver proper amounts of fuel and correct ignition timing for ANY boost level or operating condition. AEM’s Plug & Play EMS utilizes Windows-based software, which makes copying, viewing and manipulating data as simple as a click of the mouse. Additional features include software that allows users to create easily configurable templates and “Quick Keys” to any pertinent information during tuning.

AEM provides a forum dedicated to its EMS program on http://www.aempower.com. This forum provides general technical information including an updated user manual, sensor information and usage, free software upgrades, general tuning information and platform support information. A free demo of the EMS software can also be download at the website. Additionally, AEM offers a 2-day training seminar for qualified tuning shops (seminar not offered to general public). Contact AEM Sales Department to register for the class.

I don't understand. It says nothing about the AEM EMS being developed for the 3rd gen TL. Is it?

Will it be?

I don't think a TL would need such an item. I mean...unless I build an street/race car there will never be a need for a stand alone. The stock ecu is more than enough.
