Allright, I talked about this about a week ago. I was at the industry day of SEMA out here in L.A. and was told be the AEM guys that they expected a release in 8-10 weeks. That was about 1&1/2 weeks ago, do the math. As is noted above, the cost is going to be significantly more than the Injen for inly a slight increase in power, but jimthegreek did say that the power difference could be felt. I have Injen and stand behind it 100%

You can pick up a injen for around 200 and the aem will be around 250-275. The noticeable difference in the quality of the part, and the distinct VTEC sound you get out of a AEM than a injen.
HP wise was about 2.1 HP more, but the torque curve on the aem was alot more stable and pretty much the same if not slghtly more throughout the band, unlike the Injen that loses torque at the bottom end.

Novice question here but what exatly is an INJEN? Is that an exhaust? Given that the AEM is only good for about 2 HP, what can the INJEN do? Also (last dumb question) will either give me a better "rumble" sound to the engine???

AEM gives out 2hp over the injen. The injen was dyno'd on my car at 11.8 i believe it was, and the aem came in at 13.9hp to the wheels add-on.

I honestly feel that the AEM intake is a better made part. I dont know where the power came from, but the torque curve on the AEm is much better than the Injen. Notice on the injen, that your torque is actually less than stock until you get up over around 2750......

I had an cold air AEM on a 2000 Integra Type R that I have since sold. The AEM was a nice piece. Never had any problems with it. The installation was really simple, never had any problems with water, seem to be a quality piece. I really can't see a lot going wrong with it. It has no moving parts. It is just a tube with a K&N air filter on it.
I never had to deal with AEM directly so I can't speak to customer service. What problems are people having specifically? Fitment, install, filter failure (ingesting water)? I really want to know since I am planning on doing this mod when I get my TL next month.

Regarding the dyno, I'm confused... Why would the Injen cause a dip in low torque for the TL only? When I browsed the dyno charts at Injen, none of the other cars had the same issue with a significant drop in low torque, like the TL dyno showed. Is there any possibility the decrease is the result of how much throttle was applied at the start of the dyno run? In other words, is it possible the operator rolled into the throttle more smoothly on the "after" run? I don't know much about how they initiate dyno runs, so sorry if this is a stupid question.
I had a cold-air intake on my Z-28, and it seemed to improve the torque all along the rpm range.
