Adding driving lights to 04 TL
Adding driving lights to 04 TL
Hey guys, 1st time poster.
My GF's mom bought an 04 TL, and has this problem. Apparently, the output from the HID's are so sharp, that as she's driving down the bumpy road to her house, as the front of the car rises up and down in the dips, her lights no longer shine in front of the car. I guess they just don't provide the long range she needs. High beams don't help. I haven't experienced the problem so that's the best I can do for a description. Anyone know if there are aftermarket driving lights available yet for the 04 TL's.
I was thinking something like these Hella DE's which they make to custom fit in the grills of VW's. Does anyone make anything similar for the TL? Thanks in advance!
Something like this, but to fit in the mini grills at the bottom of the bumper on this!

All right, stupid question from me, if the high beams do not help, what makes you think the driving lights will.
the high beams do not have a sharp cutoff pattern and extend down the road quite a distance, the driving lights can not shine further down the road than the Xenon/HID High beams?
Also, if there are many dips in the road, the driving lights mounted down low (lower than the head lights) will be more prone to being cut off from the the same dips unless they were on an auto leveling system or something.
You may want to try it, because if the high beams don't work, then the driving lights won't either.
Did she try the fog lights (they do not have a sharp cut off, but have a wide angle to them, not realy distance either). The switch is on the turn signal stalk.
BTW - where did you find that high resolution photo of the TL?
