Electric motors sound complicated. Makes me wonder how reliable it will be. I hope they make it as an option and not standard with no other choices.

I think that every car maker is probably tinkering with electric motors. Moving cars can generate electricity. The problem will always remain how large the batteries are and how to power an idling or slow moving car.

I also agree that the first couple generations of them may have issues with reliability. We'll see what happens in the coming years.
