so excited to hear about a date for some insight! if it looks halfway decent i would consider selling my 2008 type s 6mt in 2023ish time frame for one of these used. if it falls on its face...gsf here we come!
exciting news for sure!!

they also released some dark pics, anyone able to load those up?

I'm reserving judgment until I see one in person and see the prices of these things. I will not buy brand new.

my guess is 56k all options (all options included like the 08 type s), which is pretty cheap for that segment it's going to be in.
i agree, i need to see how the production one looks

underpowered wasn't the right word. i meant lots of potential with tuning (eventually)

Hopefully it's not based on the current TLX platform. If so, it would be a hard pass for me.

Well, a TypeS has now been proven to actually exist based upon this video.

what did you expect haha. it's supposed to be in a segment with s4, etc, once you add up their options compared to what hopefully comes standard on the type s...it's about right.

a year or 2 used should bump that down a decent amount

Big dreams. high hopes and high disappointments.

It's not secret Acura is very late in keeping up with the rest of the industry. I am thrilled they are about the enter the ring with the rest of the boys. I do not expect it to have earth shattering performance numbers, I could also be very wrong.. I personally feel it takes a lot of design elements of the genesis and the rear looks a bit like the stinger. Again, just my opinion. I can see this costing 60K fully optioned out. Most forget that it's competitors have been doing this for many years. I don't think those automakers have much to worry about, IMO. As always, wishing the BEST for Acura but I really hope they don't disappoint.

One advantage/pro is that the GM/Vice President who designed the 3G TL's is now back at the helm of Acura....so there's that lol

That's cool...

I misunderstood this the first time I read it and thought it implied that a GM designer designed the 3G TL for a millisecond. I thought the world was about to end.

Is it just me, or do the front and rear end in that teaser sort of resemble the new TLX that was leaked by rx.god a couple of weeks ago?

Because it is. Those "leaked" photos are for the TLX and MDX. Technically speaking, Acura has a type-s model towards the last year of production for the current generation vehicle. This may be a bit different as Acura has the Type-s models as the start of a new generation model. The MDX and TLX are technically at the end of their production cycle. I kept saying that the "type-s" versions are direct take offs from the current MDX and TLX. Neither have anything to do with the precision concept vehicle. I take my statement back of it looking like a stinger from the rear, as long as it's the leaked version. I have read that it might be a sport back like the accord, stinger and A5, and its possible. Remember, that they will show off the CONCEPT model and true to Acura form, it will be heavily butchered by the production ready version.

It will most definitely be butchered, won't see it released until late next year as a 2021 model. I'm tempted to just buy a TLX ASPEC used now.

My friend works for Acura dealer, they're hearing 350 Hp. No price yet. But I'm gonna guess high $50's forget that.

So an explorer sport will make more power than a type s? It’s bad enough that it won’t be available in manual but cmon Acura gotta give us more than 360 to stay competitive. Guess I’ll be sticking with my 07 6mt. Still sexy and fun

I think it'll be better than the current TLX, no doubt!

No manual? Proven? (Probably)

Get an Accord 2.0 6MT and mod, save $30K!

IKR?

The Sport can be had loaded up now, not like a Touring, but it's still not basic. I LOVE the new one in blue!

I'm actually planning on trading my 2011 Kia for a 2007 V6 because I love that car so damn much!

the car will be tight. 4g and first couple years of TLX was not 3G designer. He can take the precision concept and tailored it from scratch essentially. I think people will buy it. It'll sell because of the Type-S badge. Like in 2019 I see 3G's everywhere, but I don't often see another Type-S for months at a time.

waiting....

I'm still driving my 08 TLS type S, had to put lots of money into it in the last two years. No more is going in. May be near the end of the car for me. I love the car, but can't keep pouring money in for repairs. I like the 2019 Acura ILX , but not enough power. I see the 2019 TLX has the same engine as mine, with a new body, not too impressed. I'm waiting for the 2021 TLX, but if I can't afford it a may just switch over to a Dodge Charger 392 that has some real speed and power....

The concept looks wonky. I don't like the front overhang, and the area where the rear windshield meets the trunk needs to be pushed forward ( at least for me to buy it). Hopefully they fix that on the production version coming tomorrow.

true but more likelihood of head problems. Plus, I would rather have an automatic but a manual is not out of the question.
