Does the Acura TL trunk fits on TL Type S ? Looking to get a replacement trunk so are they the same thing? I have all the parts from the trunk like the emblems and the lid, but are they the same?

Be aware there must be something different as the part numbers differ, probably holes for spoiler, etc.

It's the same trunk. If you buy a base trunk that has never had a spoiler then you will have to drill for TypeS deck lid. If you want a different aftermarket deck lid many are stick on. You'll have to transfer your TypeS badge

If you need to drill holes, then it's not the same trunk lid.

I think OP is talking about fitment. Yes It fits. However, a base trunk won't have holes unless it had the wing spoiler previously. But it's not worth the cost to have filled, painted and then install typeS lid. Just buy a matching base trunk and drill holes only for Type S lid.

OP why do you need a replacement trunk lid?

If that's the case, ask them why the Qtr panel and the rear panel is the same for base/TypeS '04/'08.

TL-S trunk comes with the spoiler installed giving it a larger look. Same base trunk, TL-S has holes and a lip on it.

It's got to be 07 08 lid 04 to 06 are different cause of mounting for rear view camera.

I know. I know. This is an old thread, but perhaps it will help someone else.

As stated above, the deck/trunk lid from a base model will bolt on to a Type S for any year. However, the Type S has holes for:

1. Wing
2. Rear view camera harness
3. License plate holder - different location for the mounting holes (off-center)
