Is an Acura TL with over 100,000 worth it?
I really would like to have the Acura TL Type-S.. I like the design of it, the rims, the HP, everything. I cannot seem to find one that is under 100k miles, though. I know Acura is a pretty reliable machine, and I found for for 6k with 114k miles. I would just like to hear from the pros some advice, experience, or suggestions.
I probably won't end up doing it, of course, but to hear someone give me a thumbs up or something would definitely be cool.

As long as it was taken care of. Check for oil consumption (white smoke on startup), nasty transmission fluid, shift through all the gears manually, both up and down. The usual stuff. If it was taken care of it wouldn't even be through half of it's useful life. There are folks on here who have pushed theirs well past 300K. Of course, that's usually guys that are good with maintenance and take care of them.

ask and see if there are pictures of the damage that caused it to have the rebuilt title. In Canada, our insurance agencies will give a car "rebuilt" status over minor damage at times

I bought my 06 base TL about 3 years ago, it had 160k miles. It now has over 200k trouble free miles since then. But it was also a 1-owner (I searched multiple sites daily for about 1mo) with all service records driven by a university professor who was married to a lawyer. Definitely one of the better buys.
It's not about the 100k miles, but about who the owners are and how well they took care of it.
If you are looking for bottom dollar cars and only seeing the price, then you may sacrafice some of those other things.

why people scare to buy car over 100k miles? I mean this isn't your 92 GM cars.
I had my TL-S since 50k miles and now she has 123k miles, the only things that really did goes wrong and costly is the rack and pinion which cost me around $1200 to fix. Other than that I replace the original HFL module around 2014 at 96k mark.

I’m not as brave as some of the other folks here.
On one side, I love my TL-S, owned it over 10 years (89k miles on the odo) and I still look forward to driving it, I love this car.
On the other hand, buying a used car, you never know what you’ll end up with.
My car has been pretty good, only issues were 2 replacements of the hfl. I replaced the drive shafts because of vibration under acceleration and the shocks leaked at some point so I replaced them. I also did all the maintenance needed, which eventually adds up, but is a whole lot cheaper than a new car.
Anyways, going back to the point, I personally don’t like surprises (especially financial ones) and I don’t think I’d buy a car with so many miles, regardless of what it is, especially if it’s my main car and I need to rely on it. If it’s a project / fun car, that’s different.
But I certainly intend on keeping the TL past 100k because it’s been a great car and as I have stated in this post and many others, I really like it still.

I defo think the 4G TL is fugly 
I like the boxy look of the 3G! It looks more TSX'Y in my opinion.. And packs a bigger punch. But I dunno. I am pretty dang happy with my TSX!! I chose an acura over a 350z because I wanted solid DD.

I kinda liked how they experimented around a lot in that time. I love my 2007 RDX! The 4G TL seems to have some cool features and quirks the 3G didn't have. ZDX was a cool experiment, too!
I always though the 2G TSX had a cool look to it and I think it will look great for years to come, it's very classic! Love it in BRP!

Ah man, that is a great point! It probably feels much bigger. I like how the tsx feels lightweight and responsive. That is a reason I wouldn't want to get an AWD TLX because it is almost 4000 lbz.

My 4000lb RDX feels WAY lighter than my 3600lb TL did.
It's all in the steering and suspension. The RDX feels like driving a Civic whereas the TL felt like a big car.
I think it has to do with the lighter/tighter steering (like a dart-not a Dodge Dart-but a "dart") SH-AWD and stiffer suspension.
I hear the 4G SH-AWD WILL be even stiffer than my RDX and has that "tossable" feel, despite looks and weight!
I think tge Infinitis look too plain, something's missing, IMO! Would rather an IS350, I think!
Rode in a 2006 G35 and though it felt too heavy, from the passengers seat!
I really want a VW CC, but that reliability.....

I bought a 2006, 6MT base TL with 117,000 miles for $4,000 a couple of months ago and am hoping it will go to 250,000 mile with ease. It's my winter beater/rainy day car.
Timing belt/water pump had been replaced, and the clutch and power steering pump are fresh. Paint had some chips, but it metered perfectly. Interior was filthy (but cleaned up well with Nextzett plastic cleaner), rear seat leather was ripped, headlights were foggy and needed new tires. Dash is not cracked, but nav is temperamental. Plan on getting a Sony CarPlay unit anyway, so no big deal.
This is my first sedan in almost 35 years of car ownership. I absolutely love being able to stir a gearbox after suffering through 14 years of a Toyota Sequoia with its slushbox and crappy handling.

my tsx only has 50k miles. imagine how much time i will probably get out of it!!
i have put 4000 miles on it in three months so i will probably run them up fast af lol
