I think when you reprogram the system what happens is the ECU forgets the keys....hence it will not recognize the immobilizer chip in the key....and hence ur car wont start even if they are able to swap out the cover for the key hole and get in the car...
again dont quote me on this....I THINK this is what happens....ask the dealer for a better answer....

it works for now...i'm anal so...the idea doesn't leave a comfortable feeling with me, but its not my car. if it was my car...i'd have a car alarm installed, do the door thing and reprogram the keys. then maybe i'd get to "tada". good luck!
