Acura Survey with Money Inside?

Is this normal? I received a survey today about my Acura from Maritz Reseach. When I opened the envelope, there was a dollar bill inside. Is this normal? Is everyone else receiving money in the mail? Too bad it wasn't a $100 dollar bill!

JD powers does the same. I have little faith in these surveys between the way the data is collected and how it be crunched with a bias depending on who is paying for the data. How enlighted automarketing people would be if they had to "have the dealer experience" and actuallly drive and pay the associated costs for the cars they market.

I received a similar survey when I bought my Infiniti about a year ago. If you really look at the questions, they're not asking about your Acura, but about their competition (probably Infiniti, Lexus, BMW et al). The Infiniti survey I received considered Cadillac and Mercedes with group.

I got one too - for the amount of time it takes to fill that out, $1 just doesn't cut it.

I have got 3 so far, don't remember the names of companies, but they're from MI, CA, and AZ. They all come with the dollar bill.

I received one with the dollar inside, and they said if they call you for an interview. They will pay you 150.00 for two hours of interview. I dont mind if they pay me 150.00 for two hours of interview and to fill out that questionair.

My friend that owns Z3 went for that interview and received the same amount.

I don't mean to rub it in but to give you the chance to give your 2 cent for all the problems that some of you have, and to received money for it! Well I would do it everytime those questionair comes in.

That's why I checked OK boxes (good for interview) for those three I have received. As you said, when someone pays you money to listen to your complaint, why not!

I've gotten one from Morpace with $1, one from JD Power and Associates and one from someone else I can't remember. $5 would be more worth my time though.

Survey sez...

I've gotten a few of those with the buck inside. Also had a few e-mails that take you to a website to answer the questions.

It usually isn't too hard to figure out the company behind the survey by reading the questions.

Depending on my mood and who I think is behind it, I might be honest or I'll trash the crap out of 'em if I don't care for the manufacturer. :chainsaw:

It can be quite fun.

Knowing that TL owners are the most ethical of all car groups, how many of you returned the $1 when you didn't take the survey?

I just got a JD Power survey with a crisp dollar last night. I can't wait to tell how pleased I was with my purchasing experience at Apple Acura in York, PA. This is my 5th new car and it's the first time I recieved the survey.

I think it's cool.

I am amazed at you guys.... The $1 is NOT to bribe you in your opinion.. It is a survey ploy. They found out awhile back that MOST people do not fill out their surveys. It was just thrown in the garbage. However, when you add one dollar to the survey, MOST people think that they 'owe' it to the survey place to fill it out. For some reason the results are better since you are getting a better sample back.

I just keep the money and throw the survey away.

I agree with you. Most of surveys will be threw away and I keep the money.

However, cars' survey is differnet to me. It won't cost me more than 10 mins, and I always fill them up even though they don't send me any bills. :o

You proceed from a false assumption. That $1 paid for the time I spent opening the envelope.

Now, if they want me to fill out that big honkin' survey, they need to include another bill (with Benjamin Franklin's picture on it).

Fisher? Associate??? $150?

I don't remember the name exactly, sorry. But I got a call and made an appointment with me next Saturday in White Plain, Westerchester, for $150 car survey. She asked me to bring my car and take that 1.5 hours interview.

Out of curiousity, has anyone done this to their 04TLs yet? Does anyone know this company?

Thanks.

How do you get one of these surveys/interviews? I haven't gotten any yet and 150 bucks is definitely worth 2 hours of my time.

I got four surveys by mail since Oct. I believe either Acura/ACS/Dealership disclose or share my info to them.

Update...

I said I got a call for setting up the appointment for the further interview. Today, their letter finally arrived, it's "Fisher Associates", at Sun City West, AZ.

It states the interview schedule, location, and drive preplanned route with their automotive professionals. There could be more than 20 ppl recieved the same request for this coming weekend. After finishing the interview, this company will give you $150 check.

Anyone gets this so far?
