Acura of Ocean and deposit.

Acura of Ocean and deposit.
I just called Acura of Ocean and kindly asked for my $1000 deposit back and they refused to do so. They said I made a deal with them already. They than said to fax a copy of the temporary paper plates to them. Is this neccessary?

Well, did you have a deal with them ? You must have had something to have given them $1,000 to begin with.
Why do you want out of the deal ? Did Ocean change the original deal, if not then you likely have a binding contract

Did you sign anything? If not, there is no deal. If they won't give you your money back, call the Monmouth County or New Jersey BBB. If you did sign anything, make sure it included the $1000 as a non-refundable deposit. If it isn't, they are obligated to give your money back. If it is listed as such, they cancel your order but keep your $1000.
Before you fax a copy of the temprary tags to them, ask them why they need them. If they skirt the issue, don't give them any info. If they do have a legitimate reason, such as confirming your delivery with Montclair, give them the info over the phone.

Good for you. I told you if they think you don't know what you're talking about they'd try to take you for a ride...![No No](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/nono.gif)

If you didn't get the deal you wanted why the hell did you let them take your grand? I got my tl from acura of ocean and I wouldn't give them a deposit until I got what I wanted. If it helps you mention to them that you know a lady named Rosie Scott that has filed a complaint with the bbb 3 weeks ago and ask the how good 2 complaints in a month would look. She really did file too.

First of all, you complained the dealer didn't give you any info about VIN or built day. Then, they kept changing the date and other info. A few days ago, you suddenly went to another dealer and made a deal/deposit, and liked to get your deposit back from your original dealer. Now, you told us you got the car and liked to withdraw your deposit from the 2nd dealer.
You have popped out dozens of threads asking questions in a week. I think guys here deserve to know what's going on... otherwise, ppl just waste time to answer your questions but help you.
Thanks.

Acura of Ocean
Twice I went to Acura of Ocean first when I was looking for a new TL. The first time was in 2001, and the 2002 TL-S was still a really hot car. Rich Redicker, the owner of Acura of Ocean had all of the new TL-S's optioned out with all kinds of crap, like the wood dash and pinstripes. Because the cars were hard to get at the time, people were forced to buy this extra crap that the dealer would refuse to remove. The second time was in January when I was looking for a 2004 TL. Fist the sales guy tells me the reason there was so many problems with the tranny on the 2002 was because of NAFTA (North American Free Trade Act), considering the tranny's were made in Japan I seriously doubt that had anything to do with it. Then they were completely unwilling to work with me to complete a deal that I was able to complete with Brunswick Acura. They are the closest Acura dealer to my house, but two times I went elsewhere to buy my car, next time I won't even consider buying there.

Sucks. Takes forever to get an appontment, Service Techs are monkeys, and the Service Manager is almost as bad. Took my car in for an A1 service, and to retack the headliner, it took 3 hours.

It doesn't matter in New Jersey if he had a deal or not with a signature or not. He is entitled to get his deposit back just like a contract can be broken within 3 days after signing. He should goto back to that Acura Dealer in his new car and demand his money.
