Acura 6MT Production
Does anyone have any thoughts (or inside information) on whether or not Acura plans to continue making the 6 speed available in the TL?
The reason I ask is because I hear that the 6MT only makes up about 15% of all '04 TL sales and Acura like any other business that wants to make money may decide that their resources are better allocated to what the majority of people want.
I'm trying to get a 6MT as fast as possible, but since I'm leaning towards getting NAVI, that will delay the process as there are very few available.

At this point I am aware of no credible information to suggest that Acura is planning on dropping the 6MT version of the TL.
If the Concept A-Spec is any indication, I would say it is here to stay as part of the new emphasis on performance.
The importance of the 6-speed option transcends the sales numbers. It is part of the what Acura is trying to create in the TL. The absence of a 6-speed may decrease the attraction to potential buyers of either version, particularly when people are cross shopping the german marques.

I agree that the 6-speed is here to stay. 15% stick is a perfectly respectable ratio in today's market, probably exactly what Acura was expecting.

That 15% is over a year period. With 60K plus cars, that means that over 9,000 cars will have 6MT's. Don't worry, there are PLENTY of them coming. You might have to wait, but then again you also have to wait for the NAVI so...

My salesman told me Acura was expecting one in nine TL's (11%) were expected to be manuals. If that's true, they exceeded expectations. He may have meant that just for his dealership, though.
