Accord Fogs

I'm back on this mod...

Where is the thread for the DIY accord fogs? I've been searching for like 2 hours and cannot find it! The one in the Garage is not the best but I remember seeing a very detailed, amazing write-up on this mod with many pictures a while ago. Where is this DIY? If anybody has one, please link me to it.

Thanks.

there is no real diy when it comes to cutting the grill/bumper and foglight trim. I made a thread a while back with pics showing how to wire up the fogs but only if you use the factory kit from honda.

I searched and searched too and found that the "grate grin on 05 TL" (could be the linked post above) was the best but you really just had to get down there and do it. Make sure you use the accord sedan fog lights and grab some "L" brackets to make some mounting brackets. I reached under my bumper and removed the grills, unscrewed the lip and pulled it out a bit from the bumper openings, cut off the insides of the accord fogs (parts with the screw holes and flip over cover things) and sanded them nice and even, trimed down the back of the fogs a bit and notched the top and bottoms on the inside to clear the trim around the bumper opening, screwed an L bracket on each side (requires some bending), cut out the backing of the bumper so the lights would go thru, cut a slit on the outside of the bumper and slide the L bracket in there, and then screwed the other L bracket on the inside of the bumper to the bumper backing. To me this was the best way because the L bracket is nice and tight and since it only has one screw it is super easy to remove if needed and really secure in the bumper. You basically have to trim and fit over and over to get it perfect. You will find that you have to trim the upper right on the outside to get a flush look and make sure to leave room on the bottom if you have the lip since it needs to go under the fog alittle bit. Then trim and test fit the grills over and over again. I ended up just loosing one mounting point so they are nice and tight. Then reinstall the lip and I added the "chrome" trim to make it more like the newer cars.

Like i said it sounds complicated but you really need to just get out there and do it and make sure to only trim a little bit at a time. Oh make sure to leave yourself the better part of the day because this is def. a six pack kind of mod

Great advice 1stGenCL. You're right, just gotta do it. But, a little while ago, I did see a thread of a great write-up for this mod. I wish I saved it to my favorites.

haha i went thru the same thing, i would search for threads find them and being an idiot not book mark them. Since you can't search for fog due to it being three letters it makes it really hard.

I'm telling you tho, i looked up every thread i could once i ordered the lights and thought i knew how to do it but once i pulled the grill and started cutting the bumper backing, I almost gave up because none of the threads were that specific. Stick with it and take your time because it really looks great. Oh please note that i meant cut a small slit the size of the 'L' bracket on the outside of the bumper backing NOT the outside of the bumper. Sounds like a no brainer but i have seen people do dumber things on here and claimed they read it so.... Also be sure to just cut out enough of the bumper backing to fit just the part of the fog that needs to go thru the backing because the other points of the backing serve as great sturdy mounting points. I know some said you could use twist ties but it sounds really ghetto and I would be embarrassed if anyone ever saw that not to mention it seems they could fall out JMO

ballinfizzle89 - Nice freakin car! I dont know why but that back corner shot with the tails and double pipes reminds me of an AMG for some reason. Weird and I cant tell you which one but I kept seeing it, maybe the last gen CL55 or something or maybe I'm just crazy. Still great work
