Might take some time to get used to the accelerator pedal

The pedal feels fine with me but I do agree that there is a slight heavy feeling on city streets because the TL's off the line torque is rather low when compared to its competitors the TL PUSHES us back into our seats when going off the line while Maximas and G35's THROW you back into your seat.

When I switched to heavier tires and wheels I thought it was hard to accerelate with.

Is it stock? If so, I have no idea. Yeah, its heavy but its no Lincoln

I had a TSX last weekend as a loaner and it felt quicker, snappier under accerelation off the line. It also felt like it ran out of steam at the top end. The TL seems to be the opposite. Slow off the line but the midrange and top end is great. Still alot better than most cars. I have an auto so maybe it's different with a manual. I am casually shopping around for wheels, 18s or 19s, and worry the extra weight will make this worse.

if your TL is relatively new to you it may feel different from the car you had previously. I too felt that way in beginning, but within a few hundred miles of driving you adapt to it.

I recently punched that baby, started off with a controlled power start and then just floored it. Wow, talk about speed. If you want a faster startup, a CAI is right up your alley.

OK, Here a slightly OT question. Can you tell the difference (in acceleration) with a passenger? I mean even a lighter one. Say 120lbs?

I know its sound funny. But at almost 300 hp! Seems like it should be hard to tell.......

No, I cant.

My fiance is about 155 something and I cant tell the difference with him in the car.
When I have him plus two of our (rather large)friends in the car, then I feel a slight difference, but not much.

Him + me + two friends = 700 extra pounds and I dont feel much lag

I bet that tsx will take a big hit though. Trust me, this is a good thing. If we wanted uber low end torque, then we would have gotten a muscle car of some sort. I value fuel economy and practicality, which means a more conservative initial acceleration. Honda engineers have done a remarkable job of providing what horse power and accelaration that we have as well as providing excellent fuel economy for it's class.

xtin, since you upgraded to a-spec wheels, did you notice any lag or did the car feel heavier on acceleration compared to the stock wheels?

I find the TL's accelerator to be a bit hard to step on but when you do step on it, mine goooeesssss! I also own a 06 accord ex and its accelerator is rather softer. I think harder is beter
