Abyss Blue

I have the opportunity to buy an Abyss Blue TL. However, I still have not see one to date. I did see some RDXs in Midnight Blue.

Can someone tell me how close the two colors are?

Is the Abyss Blue darker or lighter?

Does it show dirt easily?

Thanks

RDX? Did you mean MDX?

I have a ABP one and it is darker than MDX MBP. At night it almost looks like a black car. So it shows dirt easily.

With that said, ABP is a beautiful color so make sure you see the ABP color car in person before you decide on other color.

ABP with Quartz interior is really nice.

Gator,

Yes, mixing up my cars!! Thanks for the info.

I will have to decide without looking as it is in Dallas and I am in Houston. However, with $1600 discount I might have to take it sight unseen.

torontotl has abyss blue pics posted. I've seen it in person and it's a very attractive color. It was on my "A" list when making my selection.

if you've seen the eternal blue pearl on the RSX, the abyss blue is a darker, deeper shade.

I do have pics in my gallery of my Abyss Blue Pearl and ebony interior 04 TL. I love the colour and friend have all said they really like it too. It does, however, show dirt much more easily than my old gold TL. I was thinking about getting a California duster to keep the exterior dusted in the summer months so it will look clean longer.

That sounds like a good idea for the dust in my underground parking. Where do you get one? Thx.

Jss1, I have a California mini duster in the map pocket of the driver's side door that I use to clean the dash and stuff inside the car. Since I have ebony it shows dust and this way it looks clean all the time. I bought that in Canadian Tire so I assume that I can get a California duster (larger size) there as well.

Thanks I'll check it out. Easier than washing but now that I don't have my black car suddenly the dirt isn't as obvious.

I have an abyss blue. It is almost black. In the sunshine the hue changes with the angle of the light. I like it a lot. It does need additional cleaning.

That`s the color I origionally ordered but changed to WDP later. I`ve had 2 previous black cars, and you DO have to work on em`. Looks sweet though!!

Also, depending on the light, the color picks up a dark "blueberry" tone, with a touch of purple in it.

My Deep Pearl Green TL shows dust a bit more than the lighter colors. I have the california duster- works well. One source to purchase it is www.autosportcatalog.com

Thanks to all of you that have replied.

I put in my order yesterday. I am hoping to get a Redondo Red / Ebony. However, I have said that I will take Anthracite, Abyss Blue, or in a pinch even silver. I do want Ebony or Quartz interior as they both look great.

Now the waiting begins.......

I have an ABP with the Camel interior. It's a hot combination!
The paint does change color depending on how the light hits it - it looks great! I also got the decklid spoiler and had this guy in a 5 series BMW staring at my car for the longest time. He was all smiles.

I've had my ABP with quartz for about 2 weeks and the color is very different. Depending on the light it changes. In low light it appears to be very dark if not black, but in bright sun the metal flake really reflects other colors like teal and purple if you look close. Also, I've noticed it really looks interesting under bright mercury vapor lights. It does require more washing than say a silver car, but that is true for most dark colors. I posted a couple of pics of mine (look for the thread on body side molding).

Has anyone noticed a black color with blue metallic? You can see the blue metallic only in direct sunlight and only if you look carefully. I saw it on a TL demo car which was labelled black.

the Nighthawk Black is 99.99% black but yes, up close it IS blue. A guy at the Atlanta car show pointed that out to me.. I was amazed, had always thought it was just black.
