On different subject, anyone know how to know when a new version of the navigation disc becomes available?

First of all, I'm glad the SEARCH feature is once working again.

(Navi device in the trunk is speical for Navi DVD only. BTW, it's possible to retrofit your system to play DVD in the future... search could get lots of details. I have a very good one handy here...

You have to ask and call.

The newer version has been put into the 04TL in late built. My dealer wouldn't be able to provide/replace it and asked me to call Acura. I then called ACS and obtained another phone # to Acura Navigation Center, 888-549-3798.

They told me there is no really "newer" version so far, whatever version they've said, they're identical DVD now.

Question updating software ???

Along the same line as when the nav DVD gets updated...does anyone know if any of the software can be updated. My main concern/question is with the software that handles the voice recogmition. Each year voice recognition software continues to get better (and will continue to get better), SO is there someway to periodically udpate this type of software???

Thanks for ANY info on this.

Ha, I asked this to my stupid dealer before. They said "they don't know", but as long as they receive the TSB or any advisory update (and that update is not critical at that time), they will add this service in when the targeted vehicles coming in for the service.

I got this answer in Dec.
