About to attempt DIY replacement of outside rear view mirror

A few days ago I backed out of my garage and clipped the driver outside rear view mirror damaging the entire assembly (glass, housing, etc). My dealer quoted me $265 for the mirror assembly plus $104 for labor. I've had good luck on this site with other DIYs (USA Spec, aluminum trim, protector side sill garnish) so I'm going to attempt to do this one as well. I was able to buy the mirror housing already painted for $185 + $15 for S&H. The part # is 76250-SEP-A01ZF (Anthracite Metallic). So my DIY should save me $169.00

After extensive searching, I've found the TL scans for "Power Mirror Replacement". Before I can remove the mirror, I need to do the following: "Remove Front Door Panel" and "Remove Front Door Sash Inner Trim". The process doesn't look too complicated. Has anyone on this site already performed the aforementioned work, and if so, how did it go?

Here's the link to the scans from the 3G Garage:

Thanks for any feedback!

i would think it would be pretty easy, juss pop off the top of the door panel and then pull the triangle looking thing out. There should be screws there holding the mirror in. Just take those off and unplug the mirror from inside the door panel it should just come out ...

taking off the panel isn't that hard. Just before you install the mirror, check the size of the three screws on it! The 04 TL I have used 6mm screws and the new mirrors i got used 8mm screws so I had to drill slightly larger holes, and then luckliy I didn't run into the problem of alignment issues!

Thanks for the heads up! I was going to ask what size screws those were. I was under the impression they were 5mm. That's what the parts list says for an 04.

Did it today after work. Took me about 20 minutes. It was a piece of cake.

Acurazine saved me $169 on this one! Well done.
