A1 service recommendation in Los Angeles
It's time to do my A1 service. Does anyone have a recommendation in the Los Angeles Area?
I bought my TL in Downey, but I live in Pasadena. I'd prefer to go to a dealership closer to Pasadena, like the Glendale dealership (formerly Acura of Pasadena) or the Alhambra dealership. Are those dealerships any good? Should I return to Downey for my service?
Thanks!

Most dealers will give you a discount on your first service if you bought from them. I bought from Keyes but had my A1 at Pasadena Acura before they moved, I think it was around $55.
For B service, I got these quotes.
Glendale Acura - $124.83 or $93 w/o tire rotation.
Crown City Motor - $112 (independent, former site of Pasadena Acura)
Alhambra Acura - $105
Actual price was $102 at Alhambra. If I had a garage, I'd do this stuff myself though.

i bought mine from thomas acura originally but i get a better service from Downey so i just keep going there. chris used to help me but he's no longer there. now kam helps me. he even recommended a shop for my tint and audio upgrade and they did a wonderful job
if you feel comfortable going at that dealer, i would keep going there. builds a relationship

A1 service involves
*oil change
*rotate tires
*check fluids and parking brake
I bought my Tl at South Bay Acura, just south of LA. They wanted $90 for A1 service. I couldn't stomach that so I got just the oil change for $32 (which they checked the fluids anyway) The parking brake seems fine to me (not a lot of reported cases of parking brake failure in cars with only 6000 miles.) And I can rotate the tires myself for a $58 savings.
Extra bonus, they washed the car with my $32 oil change.

Glendale/Pasadena dealership was always good to me (though I havent been since they moved to Glendale, too far for me). I've read some not so nice things about Sierra in Alhambra and Thomas in W Covina but no personal experience with either. I;ve also used Valencia where I bought the car and they were good. Too far from you though.

That was a saturday morning when I had the long wait at Downey. And there was another lady waiting for A1 service for 2 hours plus just to find out that her TL had to stay over the weekend because of some kind of unexpected repair, but she finally got a loaner....after 3 hours wait!!!

I just got back from my A1 service at Downey Acura. I brought it in today (Saturday) at 10 am. I was out of the parking lot at 12:55 pm. My car was actually ready 15 minutes earlier, but I had to wait due to a long line at the service counter. They only had one service rep. working at the time. When the line became 5 people long, the rep. finally called for backup. The cost: $49.95 + tax.
