A1 Service and Loaner Car
My Maintenance Minder turned on (service due soon) today at <20% oil life (2007 TLS 6000miles). My question is should I wait until oil life is 0% or just take the car in?
Also, I can't believe Acura is charging $90 for an oil change now . The last time I serviced an acura was my 2001 CLS back in 2004. Oil change was still $30. I scheduled a visit to Cerritos Acura, want them to also check on my HFL microphone since everyone complains about the phone clarity when I am on my HFL (using Moto Razr), with the A1 and bluetooth they estimated 3-4 hours and refused me a loaner car. Again, something that was different than the last time I service my 2001 CLS at the same dealership, they gave me loaners on anything that would take longer than 3 hours. Comments?
Happy Holidays!

That A1 service charge is too high. I think a B1 (including tire rotation) was $80 @ Santa Monica Acura, and an oil change about $35.
I'd suggest an independent Honda/Acura mechanic for the oil & filter change if you can't get to another dealer service dept.

I bought my car at St. Monica Acura, and they told me that oil change will be around $50-60.
The service is pretty good, but I am not sure about price. Havent tried other dealerships.
One time, they needed to inspect the passenger's seat for making a squeaky noise, and they paid $25 a day for a loaner for 2 days (they needed to order the part, etc)
Also, if you have Acura Care, they should give you a loaner.

depends on the dealership. A loaner will be given usually when the wait time is more than three hours. I would make up some shit like rattles here or there or trim being loose or funky transmission noises or something. Anyway, just get a normal oil change and then a seperate tire rotation. 90 bucks is way to much. This is what I get normally done.

I don't know about you guys but I can get a dozen quarts of any 5w30 or 5w20 for under $90
ps. tl uses what 4.5 quarts so $90 = straight stealership price ripoff

Agree. For A1, $90 is WAY too much.
Oil Change and Tire Rotation only.
Local Independent did mine for less than $60 (and I had a coupon that lowered that further).
Local Dealer was similar ~$50 - $60 for Oil Change, Filter and Rotation. Plus both did the "24 point" inspection and filled/checked the other fluids.
Loaners: Our local dealer offers loaner ONLY if the wait time is expected to be more than 2 Hours. Also (fwiw), don't forget any dealer only has certain number of loaners in their fleet. On any given day, you might just be SOL and all the loaners are out or reserved.
