Question '99TL vs. Prelude with B16 swap

Hey Guys

Went down to the beach at night to check out the scenary and I ran into a friend from school.. showed him my ride, and then he showed me his friend's. It was a Prelude, not sure which year, it looked fairly old with a B16 engine in it. He wanted to race me badly but alas, the tranny's slipping so I wasn't in the mood to get stuck somewhere. Any of you think this car would give any sort of competition at all? Not familiar with engine swaps so I figured I'd ask. My car's modded with headers and an intake. The exhaust, spacers, and pulley are yet to come.

Duh

Dont worry about it. You can take him. If it has the B16a in it its probably a late 80's model... unless this guy is an idiot and swapped it into a 90's prelude. The B16a only produces 160hp and maybe 120ft/lb of torque. My money is on you my man.

A stock B16? You would destroy him. I raced an eclipse GS-T (t=turbo)with my stock 2000 TL-P and won. You should be fine, especially with headers and a CAI

I'm still trying to figure out why he would put a B16 in a prelude

Even if it is a 3G Lude, the H-series is a more viable swap...even a non-VTEC H23A1 as it still has much more torque than the B16A (156lb-ft versus 111lb-ft)
