ok, my 99 tl with only removed intake resonator and K&N air filter
vs.
my friend's 99 gs300

he finally upgraded his corolla to a gs cuz he's tired of falling behind while following me.

but, i've done some research and found a comparison.

1999 Acura 3.2TL 7.4 15.7

1998 Lexus GS 300 7.6 15.7

BUT, his is a 99, so i don't know for sure if there is a difference in 98 and 99.

TL is 3.2
GS 300 is 3.0
oh, and the GS 300 engine is a 2jz supra engine basically.

who do you think will take this race?

It'll be close.

I've killed GS300's... but I have TL-S... I have no idea how a TLP would do...

I believe the GS is heavier than the TL... by about 150 lbs or so.

But it is RWD, and the horsepower output should be similar to the TLP.

I dont know the exact HP output of the 98 GS... I dont even know if that year GS had the 2JZ-GE with VVT-I...

Just go race him and found out!

not sure if the 98 has the VVTI either. but know for sure that the 99 has the 2JZ-GE with the VVTI. but i'll find out and post it later.

a '99 TL should be in front of a GS300.

I could *almost* keep up with a GS430 with my modded '99 TL-P.
