What are your opinions on this? Any recommendations? I'm looking into replacing my fog lights with HIDs.

1 I think best result would be with projection lens's and 2 its says no flickering and full lifetime warranty i think that's kinda good?
But idk for that price though?

$149 seems a lot. A lot of other HID brands come with lifetime warranty. I got my HID fogs from ddm tuning for about $40 shipped. Its been probably two months now and no problems whatsoever. and it has a lifetime warranty. the only bad thing is it took awhile to ship because of the number of orders they get.

I wouldn't buy from that seller. They specifically say no wiring harness needed...you always want a wiring harness for aftermarket HID kits, to reduce strain on your factory wiring, which for the fogs, was not designed for the current draw experienced at ballast fire and warm up. They are also called "legal" lights...HID where they aren't placed oem are not legal...i.e. fog lights, but that just my feeling.

Bucks 13- You do have a great point regarding the wiring harness reducing strain on factory wiring. I don't like splicing any wires. Plug and play is what I prefer. So besides ddmtuning, is there any vendors I should look into?
Thanks to everyone who has responded. Much is appreciated!

ddmtuning is the way to go, their kits are also pretty cheap

If you look at the drop down boxes you can add a wiring harness for $15 dollars.
If not, just search 9006 HID harness on ebay and you'll find plenty of inexpensive options. The harness will plug into the factory harness to use it as a switch to fire the ballast, and the harness will also plug into the ballast and then straight to the battery for the power.
Ballasts can use up to 40A on initial bulb fire, and then level off to as low as maybe 4 or 5A when they're warm. A harness is a good way to go!

So I was able to remove my old HIDs (6000k) from my '05 HOnda Accord which utilizes the 9006 bulb. Well it so happens that my fogs use the 9006 bulb too. So I tried to install them today but the plastic piece of the HID bulb does not fit into the housing of my fog lights. Has anyone encountered the same issue?

They actually don't pull 40A on startup. I tested the first set of HID's I got years ago on the bench with an ammeter and one ballast/bulb pulled 7amps on startup and rolled off to about 3.5A when warm. I just ordered a 55w kit from DDM and I'll throw it on the bench again and see what kind of amperage it pulls. Should be here next week sometime.

As more and more manufacturers produce and refine their product, there are improvements being made. I don't doubt that they pull a lot less, but it just depends on the brand.
I look forward to the numbers you get, just so I know which ballasts to get for my HID fog retro

Got my 55w DDM kit the other day so I threw it on the bench today. Juiced up one ballast and bulb and the highest amperage was 6.4A @ 14.2v
After about 30s it had leveled off at 4.5A, significantly lower than most expect these kits to be. Mind you this is a 55w kit and not a 35w kit.
So on initial start up, these ballasts and bulbs pull 91 watts a piece for the first few seconds (they roll down to 5A rather quickly). Then they ultimately level off to around 64 watts for each ballast/bulb. It is approximately a 0.6A increase (@ 14.2v) over your regular 55w filament bulb - assuming that bulb is pulling exactly 55w - per light.
Edit: That 0.6A increase is after the ballasts and bulbs have gotten to their normal operating range. Prior to this you are pulling approximately an additional 2.5A per light.

what bulb color would you choose as your fogs? I have the WDP 07 TL..
I have the 6000k HID now but am contemplating to get the yellow color.. 3000k or 4500k?
any thoughts?
