6spd drivetrain

Does anyone know if theres a difference between automatic and manual axles. Over summer my drivers side axle failed on me when i was on a trip, so i desperately found one. Well now the axle clicks, and its getting worse as time goes by. The guy at the shop gave me one, he said they are same in autos and manuals. I know at dealers the part number and price is different. I'm thinking of replacing my axle now, dont want to get it from dealers. Any of you dealt with axles before. Is auto and manual axles different?

That's a good question. I don't have the answer though. Maybe someone will know. But for my , if they are different part #'s then I would only get manual axles for the 6spd and automatic axles for the automatic.

I just compared them at the Delray site. They look the same but the part numbers for the complete shafts are different.

Is it normal for 6Spd to have clicking axles over time. i would think so because of the LSD. OR am i wrong. What about those chinese Non Re-manufactured ones, You think they're any good.

How many miles are on the replacement? Is the clicking worse when you turn the wheel hard to one side compared to the other? Is the boot still in good shape?

Clicking is probably a torn cv boot and the grease leaked out. I would stay away from the Chinese axles. I wouldn't trust the metal quality.
