They are rare. My dealership called when the package was available and we ordered one in black. I totaled the black one 13 days after purchase. Special ordering another black one was going to take 6 to 8 months. We settled for a Silver one with NAVI and only had to wait a few weeks to have it shipped from another state. I have not seen another black 6 speed sedan. So sad. This is all I have left.....

When did they start offering the V6 sedan with the 6MT, '05 or '06? I wanna say '06 when they did the mid-cycle makeover.

When I bought my 07 AV6 5AT, I had just test driven a leftover 06 6MT sedan and opted for the 5AT only because I knew the wife would bitch if I brought home an MT car. That said, Open Road Honda (Edison, NJ) had several 06 and 07 6MT sedans on the lot when I made my purchase.

Good call on the auto. Before we bought the Accord we had an '07 Honda Fit Auto Sport in Vivid Blue Pearl. My wife needed a commuter because she was driving all over Washington State for her job. A few months after we got the Fit she took a local position about a mile from our house. No reason to own a Fit anymore so we traded it in on the black Accord 6MT purely for a fun car. A few months later she took a position in Seattle. Now she sits in traffic about 3 to 4 hours a day with a manual tranny. Now that's fun!!

So I had a good run with a new 6sp accord.. We started from a dig on Embarcadero heading toward the freeway. He got a good 1-2 car jump(he knew how to launch) but by 40mph, I passed him and started pulling away. On the freeway, I pulled away pretty easily and had 3+ cars on him, going up to 120mph. He followed me to my moms house (and I didn't even notice him) . and we talked a little bit. He was looking at the Type s, but liked the look of the 2 door accord. He test drove both and said the TL-S felt quicker. I invited him to the all cali meet..

Obviously he missed a shift from 1st to 2nd. If he pulled on you that hard out of the hole you would have never caught up and passed him by 40MPH.

I don't think so, he just jump out, but I was able to catch up quickly.. Oh, I got my ATLP race pipe installed..

Well I'd imagine the vtec would kick in, that's why he was able to pass the accord. Dude the accord will never surpass the TL-S, performance wise. You also have to compare MT v.s MT and AT v.s AT. The TL-S on top every time

With your mods your car is faster however when he has a jump on you like that it seems pretty unlikely you would pull back so hard so soon.

VTEC kicks in in the accord too.

Soseductivesf quote below
"He got a good 1-2 car jump(he knew how to launch) but by 40mph, I passed him and started pulling away"

It is impossible to make up that kind of ground on a 6MT accord by the end of 1st gear when he gets a 1-2 car jump on you at the start. With Soseductives mods he would pass the accord down the road a bit but the accord had a 1-2 car jump off the line how would you pass him by 40MPH unless the accord either miss 2nd or he let off and you passed him.

If you compare the TL-S 6MT vs the 8th gen AV6 6MT both stock the TL-S doesn't come out every time. Its a drivers race stock for stock. The Accord has actually put out a better 1/4 mile time with a 14.0@102.5. No TL-S has gotten that stock.

^^I'm with him.

I mean the accord has a 3.0 with no LSD and the TL-s has a 3.5 with LSD...that's pretty impressive it could still keep up.

Now you're comparing the 03 TL-S modded...still not that much of a difference IMO.

The 2nd gen J-Series motors are more torquey. I drove the av6 auto vs my friends 2nd gen CL type s and it was a big difference getting the power up.

The AV6 seemed heavier but the power felt more noticeable than that of the CL.

My friends 3.5 swapped/LSD AV6 will take the new TL-S modded hands down.

You keep comparing the average TL-S times with a rare Accord time..I haven't dyno my car yet so the possibilities are endless.. perhaps he could have misshifted, or he hasn't broken in his car yet,etc.. I have no reason to lie about a race

I didn't compare average times with the rare accord time. The fastest Accord time is faster than the fastest TL-S time for stock.

You aren't lying. I am sure of it. I believe the accord miss-shifted or wasn't using the 6MT to its full potential. You got the best of the accord this time. Good kill.
