6MT Asploded

Well, not really. But the transmission is definitely toast.

The car has 186k on it, and hail damage, so I'm not sure it'll be worth swapping in a new trans, or just selling or parting out. I don't have the time or expertise to do it myself, so I'd be paying my cousin to do it at his shop. I see the 5AT used for $400-800 all the time, but have yet to find a used 6MT, so I have no idea what they cost, or any good places to look. Any input or ideas are appreciated! Thanks!

Huge crack in the side of the case by the DS wheel:

Large chunks of metal in the drain pan after draining the fluid:

More big chunks on the rag:

Here's a 6-speed tranny on sale; however, since you don't state what year your car is, I'm not sure you can use it.

Thanks guys,

I tried car-part.com, and got nothing. Car is an 04, so looks like I could use that one, right?

Actually, just tried car-part again from a computer, and not my phone, and it returned some results now! Thanks!

I really have no clue either. Never seen anything like this happen before. The car is all stock, it's my wife's daily.

Where are you located?

I have a 6MT out of a 05' TL with 170k for sale in the marketplace.

I totalled my '06 6MT about 3 years ago and the transmission was in great shape. GM Synchromesh every 20K miles or so. But I have no damn idea where it is at this point

I'm located in Colorado, and I don't see any on car-part within 500 miles or so. What years am I able to use again? Is it 04-06?

Thanks!
