To those of you that have changed their manual transmission oil with GM synchromesh #12377916........

How much did you pay per quart? My local GM dealer is asking for $12.50/qt and it isn't even the same part #

i paid a little over $11/qt. do not get the other one. make sur eyou get the exact one that matches the part number.

 

Around $11/qt at a Chevy dealer.

 

Can 5AT use that? make any difference?

5AT uses a different transmission fluid.

 

wow..... I wasn't sure what to expect from changing the manual tranny fluid at only 15,000 miles, but what a difference. My TL isn't any faster or anything, but the shifts DO feel better, add me to the recommend list...

1st to 2nd is soooo much smoother now!!!
i used to shift 1-3-5 because 2nd was hard to get into.

 

Has anyone tried Mobil 1 gear oil for the manual trans.. I have several qts because my old Chevy truck shifted so bad I was going to change the fluid to Mobil 1, (as recommended by a GM truck forum) but instead traded the truck on my TL..
