5AT vs 6MT stabilizer bars
Has anyone installed the 6MT stabilizer bars on a 5AT? Is there any reason why this can't be done? Below are the specs for those that are interested. Seems to me this would give the 5AT models a more solid feel.
Automatic
Front: 1.0 in. diameter (25.4 mm) x (4.5 mm), 0.18 in. wall thickness
Rear 0.67 in. diameter, solid (17.0 mm)
Manual
Front: 1.07 in. diameter (27.2 mm) x (5.0 mm), 0.20 in. wall thickness
Rear: 0.79 in. diameter, solid (20 mm)

We have the same stock configuration of the 5AT. Aftermarket makers like comptech, neuspeed and others make sway bars for us, almost identical to 6MT.
There is a decent difference. Turning is tighter, cornering has less roll. If you upgrade the sway bars please upgrade both front and rear, because they work with each other.
If front is too tight (bigger sway bar) the car will have a tendency to understeer. if the rear is too tight (bigger sway bar) the car will have a tendency to oversteer.
If you desire a tendency to understeer of oversteer (some people do) then you could just change or modified the front or the back.
Good luck

I would recommend changing the rear only. Since the TL already has plenty of understeer, you'd want the rear end to come out for neutral handling. Of course, changing the sway bars, IMO, would be the last suspension mod I'd do since putting on bigger sway bars is't necessarily translate into better handling -- it depends on your driving style. Change the springs and shocks (or just the shocks if you don't want to lower the car; something like adjustable Konis so you can dial in the suspension) first and see if you still want thicker sway bars.
BTW, Bitium, I see you've changed your stance on understeer/oversteer and sway bars.
