4G Exhaust tip on 3G Base

I wanted to find out if I could take the default 4g exhaust tips and put them on a base 2005 3g. I like the style and was going to get some Magnaflow 35175 tip. For the price I am thinking I can find some default 4g tips someone no longer wants. My question is will they actually fit without having the change the bumper or look goofy?

Tried to find this before making and found nothing, sorry if it is out there just please link me.

...maybe photoshop it first... i just dont think our asses fit the same profile as the 4G and so the thin rectangular tips may seem out of place.

Yep, Base ATLP exhaust right there.

I'd be interested in the 4G tips though!

I've always wondered how the SH-AWD tips would look on a Type S bumper...

Cool idea, but I think you'd have to have the 4G tips custom welded onto the 3G catback. I'm sure the pipe sections align differently on the 3G vs the 4G, but correct me if I'm wrong

The 012 4G tips are about 9" across and the base 3g has about a 6 inch opening. The type s might fit but that exhaust tip and opening has a lot of angle to cover the corner of the bumper so it is not going to match the contour of the bumper.

If this is what you are talking about, it has been done.

Enjoy

PS. not to difficult, but when done right that's what you will get.

Thanks for finding that. It doesn't look bad at all, I figured they would fit fine with the TL-S bumper.

I believe i was the first one to do this. I photoshoped that pic years ago and used it as a reference. It looked nicer than the one on the pic but i ended up selling the tips back to my friend since he never got the chance to get a different exhaust.. with that money i ended up buying the type s exhaust from a member on here
