3rd gen TL undercover cop car....
I just finished watching this weeks episode of Numb3rs.. great show.. dumb episode though..
Anyway, near the end of the episode the Female FBI agent is doing some surveillance on a suspect, I notice the familiar headlights on the car in the camera view.. Then she speeds off in the car to corner in the suspect.. Then you see it.. a Black 3rd gen TL with flashing red and blue interior and headlights come to a sliding hault, and this chicky coems flying out with her gun drawn..
We don't have the FBI here in Canada, do the agents in the US typically ride around in Acuras..lol..
i won't be able to get a pic until I download the show and get it as a freeze frame.. I just though I would share, not sure if anyone here saw it.

I believe that the some agency in Baltimore has a Burgundy 3rd gen TL as cop. It maybe Port Police, County, City or MD state trooper. I am not really sure which though. I saw it in the emergency cut across on I-95 N North of the Inner Harbor Tunnel where I-95N and the beltway converge. Anybody familiar with that area knows how many cut through's their are in that areas and knows that it is favorite hangout of cops.
Going 75/80 in the far left lane I saw the Green and Black Crown Vic and slowed down. I then noticed the TL next to the Crown Vic as well as a large Black Chevy Pickup with a full limo tint on all the windows. I doubted that the truck and TL were cop cars. But then the truck speed off in full view of the cop in the crown vic. It was reckless enough that a civilian would have gotten immediately pulled over. 3 miles further up the road, the Truck had a full set of red and blue lights flashing and had pulled another motorist over. I tend to conclude that TL was also a cop car. Unfortunately I didn't get a good look at the driver as I was focused on not hitting the speeding truck.
Every time i see a cop car that isn't a crown vic, impala, or something instantly recognizable my skin bristles and I scream "That's so unfair."
Eh but such is life.

Yeah I live in Austin, Texas and I can't recal seeing anything other than a ford, chevy, or dodge cop cars/trucks. Though, the sheriffs and police around here are more prominently usong BMW motorcycles, but that's about it.

Never seen anything like that, except on TV. I think it was somewhere in africa, but the cops were usin e36's. Most in my area are crown vics. Never seen anything other than those at the station near my house, other than the SUV and trucks, all of which are american made. It'd be nice to see something other than american american made police vehicles in my area, as long as they not pulling me over.

An unmarked Dodge Durango pulled me and my sister over just within the Louisiana/Texas border on I-10. She was driving a Hertz Ford Contour because we were on our way to Houston to pick up my TL-S (see avatar, minus the light bar). The cop made us get out and did a random drug search on us and the car. Long story...

Here in WA state we have mainly GM cop cars but I have seen a white Volvo Turbo wagon undercover cop car, and Last week at the D.O.L. I saw a poster with 2 undercover state patrol cars one was an H2 and the other was an Acura NSX. and the title of the poster read,
" You like to street race, watch out cause you'll never now what we will be driving next."

I just got done watching the episode, im an avid watcher of NUMB3RS, I remember the previous episode with the TL, where they used the navigation, now they got it using red/blue lights rolling code 3 with sirens. Pretty cool seeing it though, aspiring to work in law enforcement and having a TL that made my night hahah

We lined up the cars to form the large "A" symbol, then I cilmbed up on a big rig to take the shots. I then realize the cars are too close to get all them in the pic.. I tried to cut and paste some pics together (I took a ton of pics) but I'm not that good at photochoppin' ..
The acura EL group was there too, they happen to spell out EL prior to this pic, and they were actually able to get up into a hotel room while the maid was cleaning it, so they could take a pic.... I'm going to be attempting to take the pic from the hotel this year so we can get a better angle.

Undercover Mini Vans
if this was already mentioned sorry for the repost. have you guys seen those undercover mini vans? omg i was driving and this dick decided to stop me, i was coming home late from work around 12am or so (thats my gay shift) and the cop turned on his lights and i pulled over. I take it the ronjon kit and chrome rims played a small part in stopping me but he asked me the stupidest questions.
Q where are you goin this time of night?
A home, i just finished my shift.
Q why were u driving so slow?
A i usually drive slow at nite.....visibility is poor (yes i kno we have the best lights but meh)
Q whats that in ur hands
A my tim hortons coffee
the funny thing i was driving about 5-8 km/h slower than the limit on a 60zone.
any one have anything to add or say to this???

South Carolina higway patrol had a BMW M5 at one point (donated by BMW since they have a plant in Greenville) and the County Sheriff's where the Mercedes plant is in Alabama had M series SUV's at one point. Wonder what the Marysville, Ohio PD uses?

They usually get the cars from drug arrests.
If you are caught selling out your car you will get it confiscated and ultimately reused by another dept. for that purpose.

Funny thing, I actually saw Numb3rs on Friday (the second time I've seen it) and saw the TL at the end...wondered if anyone else saw it and/or would post about it.

I think Aspen, CO uses Saabs for law enforcement vehicles. They have used them for many years, and probably for their superior handling in a snow environment. Saabs have great heating systems, too.

Hendersonville, North Carolina, used to have a BMW 6 series (not the new model) and a Range Rover. They confiscated the vehicles from drug dealers.

BTW,
PIGS in all sorts of form (FBI, State Trooper, local) cannot drive anything that is NOT domestic. In other words, they can ONLY drive GM, Ford, Dodge or any cars made by USA. Acura belongs to Honda hence Japan regardless the TL was made in Ohio.

Saabs and Land Rovers to be exact; and not just Aspen, Vail and a few other ski areas use them as well.

In NYC we have every make and model car I work in the auto crimes unit in the nypd and we have a leasing company we use and we can get our hands on any car. When the HID's were getting stolen like crazy back in like 2003 from acuras and maxima's we got 4 tl's and 4 maximas and planted them around the city waiting to catch those scumbags. And our surveillance vehicles ranged from 5 series BMW's to Izuzu Rodeos. These cars did not have any lights or strobes installed you were on your own to provide the dome light for the dash. The vehicles get rotated every 2 weeks or so in order to keep the criminals from recognizing us. Ive seen it get as crazy as having a yellow lamborghini for a undercover narcotics officer doing felony weight buys. That car i do believe was confiscated though. NYC has it all normally you wouldnt see a car like a acura or bmw doing patrol those are basically saved for investigations.
