I have a 3rd gen 6 speed manual that I love, 0 issues besides the cracked dash. I love the blue type s color and looking to buy a type s blue in 6 spd or auto. Is the 3.5L motor too much for the auto. I’ve heard early 3rd gens had transmission issues.

No, the Type S has the transmission in it from the RL. Those aren't prone to failure, just make sure it's hard regular fluid changes.

My TL-S 5AT KBP has 247K, the ASM I sold had 236K and my grandson's WDP has 248K...none have any trans issues whatsoever.
I did the 3X3 when I got them and regular fluid changes afterward, and only replaced the switches on the KBP 'cuz OCD.
