3G AT vs SRT-4 Neon - kinda short to be call it a race

I saw erratic driving SRT-4 today on 50MPH road.
We both got into left turning lane and I got behind him.

Thank god he didn't floor as he made left turn, leaving me in a good powerband in 1st gear (I was in "L").

I think we were about even until I cut off at around 60 and he kept going.
Also I had to terminate because my auto tranny prematuarly dropped to 3rd from 2nd around 4000RPM(!). I must been not flooring the whole time. It also could been the 89 octane gas I had in tank so computer dropped gear early.

You let off at the right time cause he was probably just getting into 3rd gear and being that your an auto you probably would have gotten left in the dust when he hit 3rd. SRT4's 3rd is real strong.

I ran an SRT4 at Etown (versus my 02 Maxima 4AT). I beat him across the line due to the simple fact that I was able to negotiate my torque steer MUCH better than he could his. That said, he trapped about 5mph higher than me (98 vs 93 mph) on that run....so he was coming HARD!!!

yeah when i raced my buddy in his SRT4, I can jump and pull on him in first and second but my lead will flatten out in 3rd and some times he will start to catch up. I have not lot to him yet but when he starts to mod, he will probably toast me. Damn turbochargers!!!!

I have the same post about a month ago, I took my friends 05 srt-4 right after I got the procats on. I have seen a few at the track the other day and they were running 14.2's to 14.4's. When I raced him he had us start at 10mph and he honked 3 times and I got the jump because my car downshifted to 1st and went.
By 80mph I had about 1 and a half lengths on him.

I don't know if it's road or gas but my car has no torque between 1000-3000 at all this tank. I might try premium gas next time althought it's a dollar a litre now.

I got toasted by my cousin over the summer, in srt-4 just called him up today, he told me that he just got his car dyno.. 325 at the wheels, no need to race anymore, and he just order stage 3.
