3G TL under hood heat insulation/liner

Ok, so I recently custom painted my engine panel/covers (Quick Example: Avatar) and immediately I see the center (Main) engine cover is discoloring (due to clear) but also the hood liner is missing 1 push tab directly above the TB side of the engine cover and has created a sag.

My question is to you guys is, beside making a FAILED attempt to wash or clean it, buying a new one or removing it completely, is there another option such as a universal heat insulation that can be installed under the hood that will hug and fit flush to the underside? Example: product like dynamat = to int sound and heat dampening. If so, any examples, pics, links or knowledge shared would be awesome.

Finally, if there is no other or better solution, has anyone removed the liber completely and noticed any difference or damage to the paint or finsih of the hood?

Thanks

I always thought that it was just sound deadening material rather than insulation.

Pretty sure Dynamat makes a product for underhood, but honestly I would just run without it unless you wanna hide every little engine noise you can.

It may be sound deadening but I am sure it also suites a multipurpose for insulating some heat also.

^no. we remove it to get rid of heat.

its actually a fire extinguisher of some sort.
it smothers out a fire. or is supposed to. dont know if it works well.

it dampens sound as well.

+1 There are alot of older cars that never came with a liner and I havent seen any issues with those.

Now that I think about it, my sisters 2012 Corolla doesnt have one.

Mine's been off for over a year to clear for the MDX spacer...AND I cut portions of the ribbing away. No drone, no heat issues.

It's a fire retardand, think 'Great White Concert', only the opposite effect.

I contacted a guy at hoodliners.net last week to see if he can make one for our cars. My buddy has one for his Cobra and it looks nice.

I use to use that stuff when i went camping its basically bubble wrap sandwiched between aluminum foil If i rem it has a pretty high heat rating but I don't think I would use it under the hood. Im thinking engine bay fire and insurance guy saying wtf is that! sorry claim denied!!
