GP - I thought pressure switches were deemed unnecessary on some other thread? Or am I wrong on this? Correct me if so.

And OP - yes you can just disconnect the battery but then you have to relearn idle and takes longer. The directions in the thread mentioned above is more like a soft reset.

NAMco, I don't know if they are unecessary or not, but I just had them done on my car and it really does make a difference in shifting. The car shifts so much smoother now then it did before I had them done.

ok I think this is the method lol

1. Make sure that your HFL disconnect (do not have any phone connect through Blue Tooth) climate control, AC and radio is off. Then proceeding to step 2.

2. Turn your key to ON position (the one that all the light came on before you start the engine).

4. Put your foot on and press the gas pedal all the way down and hold for five seconds (continue hold that pedal afterward).

5. With your foot STILL on the gas pedal then turn the key to position off (the one that you can take your key out) hints: you have to push in the key to get to that position.

6. Take your foot off the gas pedal, DO NOT REMOVE THE KEY FROM IGNITION.

7. Take your foot off the gas pedal.

8. Wait for 2 minutes or longer.

9. Now start your car up and drive like you always do (you can tell if your ECU got reset if you have a CD and instead it picking up whatever track was left before, it will playing the first song in that CD just like you just put that CD in.) and the shifting will be quicker and more crisp.

10. Enjoy, have a beer and cheer .

The reason why our TL become slow and lazy shifting after time because the drive by wire has adapt to our habit of driving style, so I would reset whenever I think it shifting slow.

If you do decide to disconnect the battery, make sure you have your radio and navi codes to enter them later.
