I guess it was somewhat sobering for me when I had a "goodbye" status call with the dev team based out in Miami this afternoon.

They said they are going into "blackout" for the next several days and obviously, no development work for the application change packs we are building. Sh*t.

I need help!

I have a 04 TL that I just swapped out the amp. The radio played new again but I have lost all of the radio display. In addition, the door locks won't function unless the switch is on=remote doesn't work. And I now have no control of the ac. The clock no longer works and the odometer trip meter comes up when the car is turned on. I the radio fuse while the car was on and now it doesn't work. Where do I start?

try fuses...#6 specifically.

Thank Yumcha...Z is with her Momma. I stopped by yesterday to drop off meds and snacks (she's sick) and give her a hug. I'll be working a LOT no matter what the damage in my immediate area so I'll be on here and there. The track shifted even further West now so we may only get hit by the "ugly" side of Irma. It'll be rough regardless but maybe not as bad as originally predickted.

Much love.
J.

oh, and found a nearby station to my rental place yesterday with lines not too long. In about an hour and a half, I had all 3 cars filled to the brim with gas.
Should I take the S2000 out in the hurricane?

Oh, I'm totally down for the corndog party. Regardless whether I was invited or not. Don't mind me, I'll just be the pants less guy in the corner, with the dishevelled hair and sunglasses standing in an otherwise dim room.

Done with housework. Relaxing for a bit before I pick up my Mom to take her car shopping...

Thinking she probably is sold on the CX-3. We'll also check out the HR-V and new Toyota thingofajig.

It's a competitive segment, that's for sure. I'd buy whatever doesn't come with a CVT. And if they all Do, I'd likely take the HRV. Oh, you know it'll grenade itself eventually, but I've heard Honda did a pretty good job with them in terms of drivability.

The HR-V's guts is a 1.8-liter SOHC i-VTEC i4 engine a la CVT...The Mazda's a touch bigger with a 2.0 SkyActiv-G on a 6-speed tranny. I do not believe it's CVT.

My Mom liked both with a preference towards the Mazda because it's better-looking and much nicer interior-wise. What the Honda has that are nifty (not game changers for her) though is that it has an Eco mode, dual-climate (digital) control. Also has side mirror cameras.

The Mazda also appears to be a peppier drive but for my Mom, that's not a factor since she drives pretty gently...

She liked the heads-up display that Mazda has. I'll do a check on invoice pricing a la Carcostcanada later to get the DL on the 2 CUVs' dealer price and go from there. I suspect it will come down to $$$ and who wants to play ball more. I'll start at 3% profit for both as negotiation.

I do wish that.
Spent the day with my Cousins at my Aunt's..it's only a 2 minute drive from Mom's and they have impact windows so it didn't feel so dreary in there. Back at Mom's now hoping for the wind to keep calm...lots of branches and whatnot already kinda down and we aren't even hit yet.

Good night boys...

I would without a doubt go with the Mazda, then. I do like the HUD and the fact it has a real transmission. It does look the classiest of the three also.

Honda would be second for me. The fact that Toyota knows how to butcher the driving fun of any car makes me put it last. Though it would likely run forever. The styling is a bit strong on that car though.
