Yeah, I'll be the first to point out that I'm not a texan. I just live here right now.
But in times like this, it doesn't matter. We're all just people trying to get through the shit.
Seems like the worst might be over for my area so we're gonna need to start looking for ways to help out our community. A lot of my friends and people I know lost a lot. Some lost everything. My dumbass is just fortunate AF.
So yeah, just for the time being, I'll be Houston Strong. Thanks MysteryMeat.

Ok, a Texas resident!!! I will make it a point to check out Houston one day... Been there 3 times... 2005,2007,2008.... But each time I was just passing through to San Antonio in 2005, Corpus Cristi in 2007, and Seabrook in 2008... Each of these times I visited with my distant 1/2 sister I haven't seen since then... She lived in H-town.... I remember a house that had all kinds of weird art stuff on it, and a retro diner near by!!!
I also have a cousin in the metro, he made it alright... And know many others there and net there anymore!!!
I want want to check out Austin one day... But I'm really a DFW guy, been there in 09 and 11, I've been dying to go back since!!! I just don't want to live where it snows...
But you're doing fine, that's good, I really hope it all gets straightened out though...
I lived in Kenner west of NOLA for Katrina, I know what your going through... It's like being in a war zone, helicopters everywhere and stuff...

Yeah, so there's a coast guard base nearby so I'm used to seeing the MH-65 Dolphin helicopters flying around. I think those are awesome. But today I'm sitting at a red light and there's this fucking Blackhawk that goes whopping by... HFS. Low and slow.
Couple that with all the mil-spec trucks rolling around town, and it really puts the exclamation point on the severity of the situation. And I'm in the 'burbs where shit isn't even that bad.
Maybe it's just exhaustion, but I keep feeling like 'merica fuck yeah.
