Having lived in BOTH systems, I'll say the Canadian one is a PiTA on taxation sometimes...But, that being said...while I still somewhat gripe about waiting so long for Little Cha's procedures, the fact they were "free" also helps. This is where you can argue it sort of balances out. If I was back in Illinois, well, I'd have to file the insurance claim and well, the 2nd procedure would've hiked our premiums big time and etc. There is no such thing here in Canadark.

I'm sure Taco or Lobsterboi can weigh in more but there are definite benefits to being a citizen of the country. The winters blow dingdongs. But, then again, peeps like J have to deal with hurricanes...and I can't imagine life with those regularly.
