vacation over. Waiting for my flight back to Hotlanta it was a good weekend in Seattle... Much better weather than in LA where it reached over 105 degrees.. Hotlanta was at a comparatively cool 90..
Almost got into an altercation on sunday night
Because I had yesterday off, I decided to go for a late night cruise after leaving a friend's place. Was about 15 minutes from home, at about 2:00am, minding my own business, when a purple BMW pulls up beside me at the lights, with at least 4 guys sitting in it. They roll down the windows and say "hey, buddee, let's race!"
well I wasn't having any of it. Shook my head no, lights turn green and I start casually accelerating, but these guys keep trying to get me going. I realize it's a 335 beside me and after about 30 seconds of them accelerating/decelerating/accelerating/decelerating I got tired of them and decided to floor the gas... and off I went. I only took it up to about 60mph.. still in the city, not gonna get stupid. I left them in the dust but of course they had to make a come back and passed me.
One of the guys in the back seat just waves at me and that's it. I figure it's done. Wasn't really a race as the driver wasn't expecting me to take off, plus, they easily had 600 pounds of human more in the car. So we're driving, them slightly ahead, but I notice they're slightly letting off the throttle so that I'd get side by side. Nope. I held back by about 50 feet. Until one smart guy decides to huck his empty milkshake cup out his window, towards my direction. I don't think they tried hitting my car, but more to get me going. They obviously hammered the gas after that, started switching lanes without signalling, swerving in and out of lanes, just being a group of young, dumb, early 20 something year old losers. I ended up hammering the brakes and taking an exit I knew they couldn't follow me down.
I was pretty angry, but at the same time, nothing happened to the car, so I figured I should just let it go. That, and if we stopped the cars, I'd likely have been bent into a pretzel by 4 guys. So, uh... not really any altercation. Wow. CSB. CSB fa realz. Sorry for wasting 1 minute of your life, reading this. I'll go sit on some thumb tacks now.

I don't get it. Why would they even try to race with 4 grown adults sitting in the car? I have no idea what a 335 puts down (nor do I care), but something tells me that having a car full of your buddies is the last way to race. And who still street races?
That's when you see on the internet, a car ripped in half and stories of dead people after the driver lost control, and how the driver was a great guy and everyone else was a great person, and how they're all great and this is truly a sad moment.
