ugh.. CR reviews are the worst. No in-depth analysis (emphasis in-depth anal)

I looked at many reviews.. it's really biased and ambiguous.
I wouldn't trust their reviews having seen them now.

Yeah, they don't even have the S5 at all. And V90 has a reliability of 2 but no indication as to what contributed to that score.


I'll stick to the Motor Trends and car sites to get this stuff still I guess. Edmunds is still a favorite of mine.

You know.. Volvo is really boutiquish when it comes to automobiles.
But in terms of reliability versus others, I wouldn't sweat it.
Their T5 has been pretty solid, their T6 and T8 are fairly new.. (supercharged and turbocharged, talk about boutiquey)
But I haven't heard anything bad about them, I'd check into as they've only been out for a few years.

Thanks, sir. We will do the check on the V90 (cross country) since I love how it looks. But, likely, the front runners are the A4 allroad or S5 sportback -- with the latter's trunk space being a factor. If we deem the S5 SB to have a decent boot space, we will likely aim towards that. The C and E-Class Estates are also options but I think their pricepoints lead us back towards Audi. I won't really know for sure until I've driven each. Summer can't come soon enough!

Pretty much the powertrain config you'd pick for the V90.. zero issues in 1 year.
I'd expect it to be a solid ride while it's under warranty.

Turbos wear out, superchargers wear too. It's all relative.
I see it as maintenance. But others won't.
