Odd, Delphi is the "oem manufacturer"...
the temp sensor had adhesive that formed a smooth ridge that allows the c-clip to basically slide over it...you can jiggle the sensor and pull it out of the port.
The o-ring is also huge, has to be shoved in there...

stopped at pepboys and picked up a different brand and o-ring and clips seem a lot tighter.
Hoping that'll be the end of that.
